Amanda Elston

Intern Therapist, MACP Candidate,
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Amanda was introduced to therapy from a young age after her own personal emotional and relational struggles. She decided to become a therapist after working front line in mental health for many years. She prioritizes the importance of the therapist client relationship while engaging in a non-directive, client-centred and strength-based stance.

Amanda adapts therapeutic approaches to meet the clients’ unique needs through a holistic and trauma informed framework. Working through a humanistic and emotionally focused lens, Amanda draws from attachment perspectives while maintaining a present-focused mindset. She firmly believes that each client has strengths within them to solve their own problems and her views of the role of the therapist is to assist the client to become aware of their strengths and resources. Additionally, she is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
