MACP Candidate, Intern Therapist
At 17, Charley had her first experience with therapy. She was struggling with social- phobia and a childhood diagnosis of what we know call ADHD. She experienced first-hand the teasing and singling out that are perpetuated by the stigma of mental illness.
Charley feels incredibly honoured to share in other peoples’ success stories with therapy after having one of her own. A former socially anxious, neurodivergent youth, turned MACP candidate and therapy intern!
Charley truly believes that the unique and "tailored to her" approach that her therapist brought to their sessions was an essential factor to her success in therapy. This is why Charley takes a holistic and individualized approach to her work with clients. Collaboration and creativity between therapist and client is key to the success of therapy.
About Charley (She/ Her)
As a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology graduate from Nipissing University, Charley is proud to call North Bay Ontario home.
Charley has worked in psychology labs and research facilities which sparked her interest in furthering her education with a more hands on approach to the field of mental health. Enrolling in the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University, Charley has found a way to reconcile her love of life-long learning and authentically connecting with others.
When she is not in the therapy room you can find Charley painting, baking and teaching piano! Charley has recently participated in the therapy dog training program by St. John’s Ambulance with her family’s dog, Pepper! If you live in the North Bay area, you may see Pepper and Charley attending various events and locations to offer therapeutic support.
Charley is currently an MACP Candidate and an Intern Therapist. She values the importance of a safe, inclusive and collaborative therapy space. Charley is currently accepting clients of all ages, and holds a safe space for individuals identifying as members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Charley is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, #14543
