Michaelah Robinson
Intern Therapist, MACP Candidiate

Michaelah grew up on a farm on the edge of a small town in Ontario, Canada, learning the intricacies of hard work, responsibility, consistency, and leadership. She experienced a unique exposure to collaboration through opportunities (and challenges) with learning to work with and train horses, and later, riders. She was involved with 4H and Canadian Pony Club from the age of ten, connecting with other horse enthusiasts, coaches, mentors, and competitors. Through the vast variety of personalities, strengths and sensitivities she experienced training horses and riders of many stages, Michaelah developed a keen appreciation for the application of compassionate curiosity. Bringing this to the therapeutic setting, Michaelah journeys with clients toward self-discovery through a supportive presence and insightful reflections.

About Michaelah (She/ Her)

Michaelah attended the University of Guelph, graduating in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Animal Biology. In 2016, she took the opportunity to share years of horse related knowledge and experience by opening an equestrian academy on the family farm. Operating a business in addition to educating and caring for the horses (and other animals) presented many avenues of learning and character development. The program emphasizes lifelong learning, teamwork, connection, and cross-species understanding in addition to horse and rider biomechanics. This work fueled an existing interest in understanding others while helping them to achieve their goals by aligning with the individual and interacting processing styles of horse and rider. Incorporating horses into therapy is an interesting future possibility to Michaelah.

In 2021, Michaelah began her formal education in psychology through the MACP program at Yorkville University. She enrolled in the Windz Centre Summer Intensive training course in 2023 and looks forward to exploring the helping and healing potentials of therapy with a narrative foundation alongside an eclectic array of approaches. Outside of work and school, Michaelah also plays piano and loves outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, and evening campfires.

Michaelah is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, #14817.
