Anna Leppinen
Intern Therapist, MACP Candidiate

Having her first experience with therapy at the age of 8, Anna feels most comfortable and fluid in the therapeutic space. Prioritizing and providing a warm and compassionate space, where individuals can show up exactly as they are is of the utmost importance to Anna. She believes that compatibility and comfortability with ones therapist is paramount when selecting the right therapist for you, as this greatly impacts the value of the experience the client will take away from a session. Through the use of an empathetic space, Anna encourages clients to explore their individuality, including but not limited to their value systems, belief systems, and the meanings ascribed to different aspects of life. Through collaborative dialogue, Anna seeks to offer the opportunity for clients to work through problematic thought patterns, behaviours, and trauma while feeling valued and validated.

About Anna (She/ Her)

Originating from Renfrew County, Anna now proudly calls North Bay, ON, home.

Anna’s passion and interest in working with individuals stems from her undergraduate degree in Sociology from McMaster University in Hamilton, ON. Having graduated with Honours from her program, Anna completed her final research project by co-facilitating a Mental Health Toolkit program at a public health agency. She further pursued this passion academically by completing her diploma in Social Service Work from Canadore College in North Bay.

After having worked in the social service field, Anna further solidified her passion for working with individuals in a mental health capacity by applying for Yorkville University’s Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

When she is not studying or working, Anna can be found adventuring outdoors, or running. She is also a travel enthusiast and enjoys seeing new places and faces.

Anna is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#14735), and a non-certified professional member with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
