Parenting Counselling

Being a parent is hard. You constantly wonder if you are doing enough, if you're making the right decisions and if your child is going to be okay.

All the while life is changing and throwing you curveballs, your children are growing faster than you can imagine, and you are trying to roll with the punches as best as possible.

At the Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, we hear you. Our parenting therapists are parents too. If you are looking for a family counsellor, a therapist for your teen or parenting support for yourself, you've come to the right place. First we will look at your family needs and try to provide some immediate relief with coping mechanisms. Then we will assess what needs to be tweaked or changed to set you up for future success.

If you are ready to take the first step on your journey, reach out to us today. Our Care Coordinator will provide a free consultation to match you with the best therapist on our team.

At the Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, our approach to Child, Teen and Family Therapy is unique and tailored to your family.

It can be overwhelming to figure out where to start. This isn't just about you. It's about the people you love and care for most on this planet. Our goal is to make beginning therapy as easy as possible for you. During our free consultation call you will sit down with our Care Coordinator who will collect all your thoughts and concerns and create you a road map, matching you with the therapist that is best suited to your needs and helping you with the first steps.

When you are ready, you can book a consultation here, or fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page.

During your first sessions, your therapist will help establish some boundaries to ensure you feel safe and comfortable in your session. If you are coming alone at first or with your family, your therapist will help to establish some goals for therapy and walk you through the best structure of sessions for your success.

Some times of interventions that can help with family therapy include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • Solution - Focused

  • Narrative

  • Transgenerational

We firmly believe that therapy is only successful when you find the right therapist. It is our commitment to you, to ensure you feel safe and supported throughout the process. If you have any questions about how online help for you or your family may work, please contact us. We’re here to help.
