Somdatta Chattopadhyay

Future Intern Therapist, MACP Candidate (Starting May 2024)

Somdatta has been intrigued by the many facets of the human mind from a tender age. Her own physical, emotional and relational struggles have played a pivotal role in shaping her selfhood, while strengthening her belief in the power of open and authentic sharing.

Somdatta approaches each client interaction with a trauma informed stance. Working through a cognitive behavioural lens, Somdatta draws from attachment perspectives while simultaneously adopting a strength-based, and person-centred approach in her interactions with clients. She firmly believes that therapy works best when it is individually tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Her areas of interest and speciality include grief and loss, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, issues pertaining to self-esteem, gender and sexuality as well as shame and guilt in relationships.
