Walk & Talk Therapy
in Ontario
Many of us spend the majority of our day indoors, sitting in front of screens, commuting, or moving from one responsibility to the next without time to slow down and reconnect with ourselves. Research continues to show that movement and time in nature can support emotional well-being, reduce stress, and improve overall mental health.

Walk and talk therapy combines traditional psychotherapy with the healing benefits of movement and nature. Rather than meeting in an office, you and your therapist meet outdoors for a therapy session while walking together through thoughtfully selected routes and natural spaces.
What is Walk and Talk Therapy?
Walk and talk therapy is a form of psychotherapy that takes place outdoors while walking alongside your therapist. Sessions may occur on trails, parks, waterfront paths, or other accessible outdoor spaces depending on your location and therapist availability.
For many people, walking side-by-side can feel less intimidating than sitting face-to-face in an office. The combination of movement, fresh air, and nature can help clients feel more relaxed, emotionally open, and connected to the present moment.

Walk and talk therapy can support individuals navigating:
-
Anxiety and stress
-
Burnout and overwhelm
-
Depression and low mood
-
Life transitions
-
Grief and loss
-
Relationship concerns
-
Emotional regulation difficulties
-
Nervous system dysregulation
-
Identity and self-esteem concerns
Walking therapy may help support:
-
Increased sense of calm and nervous system regulation
-
Improved emotional processing and self-awareness
-
Opportunities for movement and connection with nature
-
Reduced intensity of face-to-face conversation
-
Enhanced focus, mindfulness, and grounding
-
Stress reduction and improved overall well-being
-
Greater mind-body connection
-
Many clients find that being outdoors allows conversations to flow more naturally while reducing feelings of pressure, discomfort, or emotional intensity.
