Why The Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Family-Centered Approach
We consider the needs of the whole family, while creating a space where each individual feels seen and respected.

Developmentally-Informed
Our therapists understand how age, stage of development, and generational dynamics play a role in family challenges—and how to work with them, not against them.

Collaborative and Kind
We don’t assign blame. Instead, we help each family member take ownership, shift patterns, and move toward shared goals.
Meet Your Family Therapist
Family counselling at The Journey is provided by Patricia Di Giorgio (she/her), Associate Therapist, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Patricia brings a compassionate, integrative approach to supporting youth (14+), adults, and couples navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and mental health concerns. With warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience, Patricia creates a space where families and individuals feel safe to explore, connect, and grow—together.

How Our Family Therapy Works
How Our Family Therapy Works
We begin by understanding each family member’s unique experience and concerns.
We work toward shared understanding
Together, we uncover patterns, learn new communication strategies, and foster empathy within the family system.
We build skills for long-term change
From emotional regulation to problem-solving, we help families learn tools they can carry forward long after therapy ends.
